ABOUT DALLINGTON

Dallington was established as a suburb in 1851 when John Dudley purchased Broom Farm in Locksley Ave. The suburb is bounded by the Avon river from Dallington Terrace around to Locksley Ave, along New Brighton Road to North Parade and Banks Ave.

Following the 2010-2011 earthquakes, approximately two-thirds of Dallington was red zoned - the land was purchased by the Crown and all buildings were removed. This reduced the population of Dallington from about 3,500 to 1,900 in 2014.
